Woven Sectional in a Classical Setting
[ 02 ] The brief
A single-piece product render placing a pale grey woven-fabric chaise sectional in a classical interior — panelled walls, deep cornice, herringbone parquet and floor-length curtains at a tall window. The brief was to show a contemporary upholstery form reading comfortably in a traditional room, so the composition leans on the brass side tables and abstract canvas to bridge the two registers rather than fighting them.

[ 04 ] How it was made
The technical problem.
The brief was to make a contemporary upholstery form sit comfortably in a traditional room, which is a composition problem more than a rendering one. Panelled walls, a deep cornice and herringbone parquet all carry strong linear rhythm, and a soft modern chaise can easily look dropped into them. We used the brass side tables and the abstract canvas as intermediaries — contemporary in form, warm in tone — so the eye travels between the two registers rather than snagging. The parquet was laid as individual blocks with correct herringbone orientation, since a tiled floor texture breaks perspective immediately at this camera height. Daylight comes from a single tall window, so the whole image depends on one directional source and the bounce it generates off the pale walls; there is no fill light in the scene.
